Background and Experience
Christie works with children, adolescents, and adults. Christie has experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, relationship issues, anger, and self-worth. She uses an existential and humanistic counseling approach and is passionate about developing a safe space where each client can feel comfortable exploring their authentic inner world.
Personal Statement
I believe every person deserves to be heard and understood. Human connection truly is a powerful force. Looking back so far at my professional career as a tutor, teacher, and now counselor, it’s clear that I have gravitated toward positions where I can make connections and help others grow. I carry that appreciation for the healing power of empathetic, authentic, and nonjudgmental relationships with me in the counseling room. Therapy can be a place where you can identify your emotions and strengths, learn to live more authentically, make purposeful choices, and develop meaning in your life.
Education and Training
Christie earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Brigham Young University and her Master of Science in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman’s University. During her graduate program, she gained clinical experience working at a transitional living shelter for the homeless. Christie is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate being supervised by Lisa Grubbs, PhD, LPC-S, CSC, GC-C, NCC.
