Background and Experience
Edna began her career in education technology, partnering with school districts to meet their online learning needs. In her work with school districts, she often found herself listening and empathizing with teachers, parents, and students and found joy in helping others. She has had an interest in mental health since college and had considered entering the field from time to time. In 2020, she saw an increase in the need for mental health services among her colleagues and friends, as well as the rest of society, and she felt compelled to do her part to help. Having experienced the benefits of therapy as a client, she felt pursuing a career in mental health counseling was the best way she could contribute. She joined a graduate program for Professional Counseling and is excited to be joining Counseling Center of North Texas as a graduate intern. Edna enjoys working with adults, young adults, adolescents, and children.
