Background and Experience
Kathryn Kososki was born in Austin, Texas, and has lived in the Plano/Wylie area for the past eleven years. Kathryn likes to work with adults, children (5+), and teens. Kathryn has a background working with individuals who have a substance use disorder from when she interned at a transitional facility in Denton, Texas. Kathryn has also worked with individuals with TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), individuals who have had a stroke, and young adults with disabilities, when interning for her graduate program at the University of North Texas. Kathryn enjoys working with individuals in regards to recovery with depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders.
I enjoy working with individuals to help them become the person that they desire to be. I believe anything is possible when the individual is determined and takes the first step to get some help. I do not believe in generalizing any of my clients since I have a full understanding that each individual is unique and requires their own individualized plan. I was motivated to become a counselor after I personally experienced counseling myself, and was inspired to go into the profession after seeing what it did for me.
