Background and Experience
While pursuing his goal to become a Licensed Professional Counselor, Spencer began his counseling experience as an intern at a behavioral health hospital, working with adolescents and adults in crisis. As he moves forward with his career, Spencer is excited to continue his work with adolescents and adults who are experiencing issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, work-life balance, grief and loss, family relationship problems, self-harm, adolescent issues, senior issues, self-esteem, and sexual identify.
I believe that there are times in every life when problems or obstacles arise that seem difficult to overcome. Living your best life starts with clearing the obstacles and finding your strengths. As a counselor, I will work beside you to identify your strengths, overcome the obstacles, empower you to meet your goals, and increase your mental health and well-being.
Education and Training
Spencer earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology at the University of Texas at Dallas. After graduation, Spencer continued his education with a Master of Science in Gerontology, the study of aging, from Brenau University in Georgia. Spencer then continued his education earning a Master of Science in Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Arizona. After earning his MS in Counseling, Spencer went on to pursue two areas of specialization and earned a Post-Masters Certificate in Trauma and Crisis Counseling and is nearing completion of a Post-Masters Certificate in Marriage and Family Counseling.
Spencer is in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
