Background and Experience
Humera is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with extensive experience working with adults, families, couples, children, adolescents, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). She has served in both direct care and leadership roles, including her time as Director of IDD Services at Life Path Systems. Her professional experience spans community mental health centers, public agencies, and interdisciplinary teams, where she has developed and led programs that prioritize equity, empowerment, and person-centered care.
Humera works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, caregiver stress, trauma, burnout, grief, and life transitions. She specializes in working with multicultural sensitivities and generational trauma and is particularly passionate about supporting those who feel overwhelmed by systemic challenges or who are seeking deeper clarity and purpose in their lives. Humera believes in the importance of listening to each person's story and tailoring care to honor both their lived experience and their strengths.
Personal Statement
From the beginning of my career, I’ve been drawn to the intersections of mental health, advocacy, and human dignity. Working closely with individuals and families impacted by developmental disabilities opened my eyes—and my heart—to the ways systems often fall short, and how powerful true connection and support can be.
As a therapist, I offer a collaborative, person-centered space grounded in trust, curiosity, and care. I believe healing happens when people feel safe enough to be seen, heard, and empowered to make meaningful changes. I use an integrative approach rooted in trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and narrative practices, and I adapt my methods to fit each client’s unique needs and goals.
Whether you're facing burnout, navigating a life transition, or just needing someone to help untangle the “in-between” parts of life, I’d be honored to support your process.
