Autumn Brown

Supervised by Jill Yarbrough, LCSW

Background and Experience
Autumn is a graduate counseling student at Texas Woman’s University with a background in psychology and a growing passion for working with adults, couples, and families. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas Woman’s University and is currently pursuing her master’s in Counseling and Development. Her clinical interests include supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relational concerns, and eating disorders.

Her approach is grounded in existentialism, with a focus on helping clients explore meaning, identity, and authenticity in their lives. She incorporates themes of self-love, spirituality, and self-care into her work and strives to create a space where individuals feel safe to examine their inner world with honesty and compassion.

Autumn believes in the power of reflection, connection, and intentional living as tools for healing and transformation. She approaches her work with warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for each client’s unique story.

Personal Statement
I’ve always been fascinated by the inner world we all carry—our thoughts, fears, questions, and dreams. Studying psychology and counseling has only deepened my belief that healing begins with understanding ourselves more fully and learning to approach that understanding with compassion.

As a therapist-in-training, I’m passionate about creating space for people to explore who they are, what they value, and how they want to live. I take an existential and person-centered approach to therapy, drawing on the healing power of self-love, spiritual connection, and mindfulness. Whether someone is navigating anxiety, relationship stress, or the quiet weight of self-doubt, I aim to walk alongside them with openness and care.

It’s an honor to be part of a process where people can reconnect with themselves, find strength in their story, and begin to create meaningful change.

Sarah Gevas, Student

Supervised by Jill Yarbrough, LCSW

Background and Experience
Sarah is a graduate student at Sam Houston State University with a  background in sociology and rehabilitation. She has spent the past two  years working in residential and inpatient care for eating disorders and  expanded to supporting adults navigating trauma, anxiety, and  depression. Sarah takes an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)  approach, adding mindfulness, feminist theory, and compassion-focused  practices to help clients connect with their values, find meaning, and  approach their histories with kindness rather than judgment. Her  practice is rooted in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and  LGBTQ+ affirming framework, ensuring that every client feels seen,  respected, and valued.

Personal Statement
I believe that healing is less about erasing the past and more about  learning to carry it in a way that feels lighter, gentler, and more  meaningful. I hope to help people discover their worth, even in moments  when it feels far away. In our work together, we make space for  self-love, acceptance, and the freedom to live in alignment with what  matters most. I see therapy as a collaborative journey; we explore your  story, your strengths, and the values that give your life direction.  There is no “one-size-fits-all” path to healing, so our work is shaped  by your unique needs, experiences, and hopes for the future. My goal is  to provide a space that feels safe enough for you to be honest and feel  supported throughout your journey.

Education and Training
Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of  North Texas and is currently pursuing her master’s in Clinical Mental  Health Counseling at Sam Houston State University.

Sarah is in the office Thursdays and Fridays
