Background and Experience
Amanda enjoys working with children, adolescents, teens, and young adults. She has worked in multiple private practice and school-based settings in Georgia. Most of her recent experiences include working with clients who are considered underprivileged, minority, and/or diverse, though she also enjoys working with individuals with disabilities, LGBTQ+, autism, adverse childhood experiences, ADHD, oppositional defiance disorder, and trauma. Amanda loves working to support individuals by helping them to reach their image of optimal well being. Amanda will work to tailor each individual’s treatment according to their specific needs.
Personal Statement
I have known from age 4 that I wanted to teach others and have found an increased passion for wanting to guide others to their perceived success. My ‘why’ in the simplest form it to help others help themselves find their version of wellbeing by providing them client-centered support, knowledge, resources, tools, and guidance to experience a sense of control over their lives (especially when things feel out of control) and the power to defeat whatever obstacle they may encounter. I want others to feel supported in the most wholesome way possible and want to ensure that each individual feels his/her/their needs are heard and not just lumped into a “one-size-fits-most” category. Moreover, I aim to implement sessions with awareness & transparency and provide empathy and support with ample consideration of the individual and the struggles that run deeper than the superficial and obvious. I do not demean, disregard, or discourage any person from expressing their whole, authentic self. With a tailored approach, I utilize education and resources that align best with the client’s belief systems and implement an array of treatment modalities and utilize a variety of techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
