Background and Experience
Jill enjoys providing support across the lifespan, to children, adolescents, adults, and families. She has experience working at a rape crisis center, where she supported survivors of sexual assault, and spent a number of years working in medical hospitals in both Lubbock and Dallas. There she worked with individuals experiencing acute traumatic events as well as coping with lengthy and challenging medical issues. The majority of her experience is in the areas of coping with chronic medical issues, grief and loss, stressful life events, mental health disorders and trauma. Jill also works with those who struggle with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and body image issues. She is LGBTQIA-affirming. Jill offers play therapy for younger clients and provides an individualized treatment approach based on the needs of each unique individual.
In my work in rape crisis and the hospital setting, I often met people on one of the worst days of their lives. Each time, I felt honored to be allowed to walk alongside these brave individuals and their families as they navigated incredibly difficult circumstances. I take great joy in assisting others on the journey to discovering their inner strength and resilience in challenging times, and I will provide a safe environment for healing and growth. I take a compassionate,client-centered approach to treatment, and see myself as partnering with you to help address your specific concerns. I believe that you bring a unique story to the counseling relationship, and I will strive to honor it as we determine a treatment plan that works for you.
