Erica Meshell, LPC

Background and Experience

Erica believes that every person has a story worth telling and  through radical authenticity, the capacity within them to build a life  they love. She has spent years walking alongside clients as they  navigate life's hardest chapters, and considers it a privilege to be  invited into those stories.

Her clinical work focuses on trauma, neurodivergence, grief, identity exploration, anxiety,  OCD, relationship concerns, life transitions, spiritual abuse, and  women's issues. She is EMDR trained and integrates attachment-based,  person-centered, narrative, and cognitive behavioral approaches to help  clients better understand themselves, heal from painful experiences, and  move toward meaningful change.

Erica is a neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQIA+ allied therapist who  believes counseling should be a place where clients feel safe enough to  be fully known without fear of judgment. She is also happy to  incorporate faith into counseling for clients who desire it.

Personal Statement

From as far back as I can remember, I've had two deep loves: people and stories.

Those two loves, combined with my own search for purpose and meaning,  eventually led me to counseling. Somewhere along the way I discovered  something that continues to shape how I practice today: behavior makes  sense. Even the patterns we wish we could change often began as our best  attempt to survive, protect ourselves, or meet a need.

Having experienced many trials and triumphs myself, a deep desire was  born within me to understand and come alongside people who find  themselves in need of a safe place to land, and a new lens.

I believe that at the heart of every person is a desire to be seen,  heard, understood, and valued. I also believe healing happens in  relationship. When we begin telling our stories in safe spaces, shame  starts to lose its grip, insight begins to grow, and what once felt  impossible slowly becomes possible.

My hope is to provide a place where you don't have to pretend,  perform, or have everything figured out. A place where we can become  curious together, discover new ways of understanding your story, and  begin writing the next chapter with intention.

Because every story deserves a safe place to be told.

Education and Training

Erica earned her Bachelor's degree in Christian Counseling from  Liberty University and her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health  Counseling from Nelson University (formerly Southwestern Assemblies of  God University).

She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the  State of Texas and has completed training in Eye Movement  Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Erica remains committed to  ongoing professional development and regularly pursues advanced training  in trauma treatment, attachment, neurodivergence, OCD, anxiety  disorders, eating disorders, and evidence-based therapeutic  interventions.

Her clinical work is informed not only by continuing education  but also by years of experience walking alongside clients through some  of life's most difficult and transformative seasons.
