Background and Experience
Buffy has worked in a variety of settings, including a substance abuse treatment center, community mental health center, and as a court advocate in abuse cases. The diversity of clients in these settings has prepared her to work with a variety of individuals with unique experiences. She has worked with individuals with substance abuse issues, mental health disorders, family conflict, grief, and relationship issues. Buffy also has experience working with children ages 3+ in play therapy while providing support to parents.
Personal Statement
I am passionate about my career as a social worker and enjoy helping people navigate difficult life experiences. I provide a person-centered, strengths-based approach to counseling. I work to empower clients to use their strengths to overcome various struggles in life. I strive to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment so that each client feels safe and respected. We will work together to develop goals that focus on your strengths and empower you to make changes.
Education and Training
Buffy earned a Bachelor of Nutritional Sciences from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. In 2014, she received an Alcohol and Drug Abuse certification from Grayson College in Denison, Texas. In 2018, she earned her Master of Social Work at the University of Texas in Arlington, Texas. Buffy gained her clinical experience working in an outpatient substance abuse treatment facility and in the mental health department at a community health center. Buffy also has experience working with children and families as a court advocate in abuse cases.
