Personal Statement
I have always had an interest in psychology, counseling, and helping others. I initially chose to help people through providing emergency care in a variety of settings as an EMT, then paramedic for nearly two decades. After a medical emergency changed nearly every aspect of my life, I felt called to continue to help others, but through counseling. It is a privilege to be able to create a safe place where individuals can let their guard down as we explore what has led them to therapy, create goals to improve their quality of life, and work towards achieving their goals. I am a cognitive behavioral therapist who incorporates a person-centered approach to meet each individual where they are in their goals, values, culture, life stage, and unique situations to make clients feel empowered.
